Christmas Lights Switch On:

November 14th sees the official launch of the festivities in Plymouth, with the exciting switching on of the Christmas lights. Every year they get brighter and the Christmas celebrations get more exciting. This year from 16:00 you can catch the Christmas spirit in full swing in the City Centre Piazza, with a live performance from local indie, rock and pop The Sound. This event also marks the beginning of late-night shopping!

Create Your own Planted Terrarium:

Make a special gift for a loved one for Christmas, or simply have some fun and have something exciting to show for your time in Plymouth. This exciting workshop will see you creating your own closed jar planted terrarium, with a classic British afternoon tea included. Illuminate Festival:

Plymouth’s Royal William Yard is fast becoming a hot spot for foodies and those looking for adventure. The historic buildings make for an exciting exploration destination, the illuminate festival has grown from strength to strength over the years. With amazing light and dance displays, literally illuminating the historic yard, this year is extra special as it also kicks off the beginning of the Mayflower 400 commemorations; Illuminate runs from 28th November – 1st December.

Plymouth Christmas Market:

Plymouth’s Piazza will be full of over 50 traders from the 28th of November, unique gifts and delicious food. Gospel choirs and vintage vocalists will also be there to help bring the festive cheer. You can even get a selfie in front of the giant illuminated bauble, something to remember your adventure to Plymouth by.

Penguins – A LEGO brick trail:

Planning to explore all that Plymouth has to offer this Autumn, why not partake in the penguin trail on your travels. With 20 penguins to be found, they are hidden all around the city, with some in local businesses. If you find them all, great prizes such as a trip to LEGO Land can be won.
