British Doors into Europe Erasmus+ Case Study

1st August 2018

ERASMUS+ PROJECT FOR CARPENTRY STUDENTS
The project aimed to show the School’s carpentry students how they could use their English language and practical skills in a different country, inspiring them with more confidence in their abilities and future job prospects. It was the first Erasmus plus project for the school.

AN OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP PRACTICAL SKILLS
The project also gave students the opportunity to apply their practical skills within a workshop environment, learning skills like collaboration, problem solving, working to a deadline and how to put Health and Safety measures into practise. The small group meant there was plenty of time for individual instruction from the tutors and discussion about the differences in carpentry techniques between each country.

SPECIALIST SUPERVISION & QUALIFIED TUTORS
The project took place at a specialist Construction training centre which included supervision from qualified tutors, specialist workshops and a full range of carpentry equipment.
